50 Annoying Clothing Situations All Women Have To Deal With

One word: thong.

Revolution Studios

1. Thongs, in general.

2. When you realize farrrrrr too late that your shirt is see-through.

3. When your skirt clings to your tights and highlights every inch of your body.

4. Panty lines.

5. When you unintentionally tuck your dress into your underwear and flash the world.

6. Actually, just flashing the world anytime a strong breeze approaches.

7. When you're out somewhere and get blisters from your heels, but you just have to endure it or go home.

8. When you're hooking up, taking off your panties, and, well, there are stains on them.

9. Getting your hair stuck in the zipper of a jacket.

10. When the underwire on your bra snaps, and you have to sit in prickly agony all day.

Via sorelleinstyle.blogspot.com

11. When a purse strap attacks your hair.

12. Putting a shirt on while your hair is still wet = see-through shirt.

13. When you get a line in your stockings and try to cover it up with clear nail polish, only to then have that nail polish stick to your skin.

14. When the neckline on a loose T-shirt creeps down and suddenly it's cleavage city.

15. The small gap at the back of your jeans creating potential butt visibility.

16. When the ink of dark-wash jeans comes off on your skin and you get blue legs.

17. When your jeans start to stretch out after a few days of wear and you walk around all day doing the pull-up-pants walk.

18. White pants, in general.

19. Wearing high-waist pants on a day you're going to be super bloated…

20. Walking through the rain and having the color of your flats stain your feet.

16 Books Every Sports Lover Should Read

Playing sports — almost as fun as reading about them.

BuzzFeed

The Blind Side by Michael Lewis

The Blind Side by Michael Lewis

If you’ve seen the movie, you know that this is the story of Michael Oher's rise from homeless teen to first-round NFL draft pick, with a focus on the family that helped him. Lewis also intersperses insightful analysis of the changing nature of the game, noting the importance of the left tackle in doing the crucial work of protecting the quarterback’s blind side. The book is not nearly as much of a tearjerker as the movie is, but that makes it a tiny bit better.

Best enjoyed with: The Gatorade that rolls off the face of your teammate after the clock runs out, and you find yourself in a clutch of sweaty, happy teammates because YOU'RE GOING TO STATE.

Little Girls in Pretty Boxes by Joan Ryan

Little Girls in Pretty Boxes by Joan Ryan

Perhaps the definitive examination of the machine that produces tiny girls who achieve remarkable feats of athleticism both on the ice and on a balance beam, the San Francisco Chronicle sports writer looks at the inner workings of what it takes to make a champion in the physically trying and emotionally crippling worlds of gymnastics and figure skating. Drawing upon interviews with sports psychologists and hundreds of former gymnasts and figure skaters, Ryan paints a picture of a training practice that robs children of their childhood, and stunts development, both physically and mentally. If you find yourself in wonder every year at the 16-year-old on your television set performing feats of mental and physical wonder, then this is a must-read.

Best enjoyed with: a contraband strawberry Nesquik, over in the corner by the locker room, sipped through a straw.

Shattering the Glass: The Remarkable History of Women in Basketball by Pamela Grundy & Susan Shackleford

Shattering the Glass: The Remarkable History of Women in Basketball by Pamela Grundy & Susan Shackleford

If you’ve ever bemoaned the lack of a definitive, thoughtful and thorough analysis of the history of women’s basketball, look no further than this. A well-researched and understanding work, this book highlights the trailblazers in the sport while also highlighting their contemporaries while tackling larger issues like the impact of homophobia and the resultant tensions between the traditional roles of women versus the demands of the sport. A must-read for any fan of basketball.

Best enjoyed with: Powerade, because Gatorade is for wusses.

J.C. Penney Planned Fake Drunk Super Bowl Tweets To “Create Own Narrative”

The department-store company sent out some nonsensical tweets tonight, leading many to believe the person running the account was drunk or hacked. Turns out they were “tweeting with mittens” on, which was the plan all along.

J.C. Penney drew lots and lots of attention for sounding either drunk or hacked on Twitter during the Super Bowl tonight. News outlets questioned what was going on with the company’s social media account, and brands like Kia and Snickers jumped in to poke fun at the retailer.

The Most Adorable Mugshot Ever Is Also Fake

Kindle

I know 19th-century France was NO joke, but even this would be too extreme.

OK, so this is definitely the cutest mug shot ever; the photo (taken in 1893) is of François Bertillon, a 23-month-old toddler, who was “arrested” on charges of gluttony — for “nibbling all the pears from a basket.”

Fortunately for François, he was spared the guillotine since this mug shot is a fake. The image was taken by his father Alphonse Bertillon a French police officer who created and standardized the modern mug shot.
