Brooklyn Nets Close To Deal With Jason Collins, The NBA’s First Openly Gay Player

The 35-year-old Collins is expected to sign a 10-day contract and be in uniform by Sunday night.

The Brooklyn Nets are reportedly poised to sign center Jason Collins on Sunday, which would make the free-agent center the first openly gay athlete playing in one of the four major North American sports leagues.


ESPN.com reports Collins will sign a 10-day contract and be in uniform for tonight's game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
