Banksy Reworks Famous Piece To Mark Third Anniversary Of Syria Conflict

The image will be projected onto the Eiffel Tower.

The altered image will be used to promote the #withsyria campaign in support of victims of the conflict.

The reclusive artist has written on his website about an incident in the Syrian town of Daraa in 2011 which saw 15 children “arrested and tortured for painting anti-authoritarian graffiti”.

“The protests that followed their detention led to an outbreak of violence

across the country that would see a domestic uprising transform into a

civil war displacing 9.3 million people from their homes.”

A series of vigils are due to be held around the world this week to mark the third anniversary of the Syrian civil war.

How does the brain generate consciousness?

Mo Costandi, neuroscientist and writer.

Scientists might never be able to explain what consciousness is. What are the limits of human life and physiology?

Kevin Fong, space medicine expert.

At the moment, astronauts that go up to the International Space Station are limited to spending six months in space at a time because of the effects of microgravity on the human body. But from March 2015 astronaut Scott Kelly is going to spend a year in orbit. And his twin, astronaut Mark Kelly, will be staying on Earth. Nasa hopes this unique twin study will give us some insight into how we can counteract the damaging effects of space on our bodies.
